from KZYX Public Affairs · host KZYX Programmers

December 16, 2022--Host Alicia Bales talks with Mike Geniella, veteran local reporter, about the extraordinary story of Sister Jane Kelly, who came to him in 1999 to report sexual abuse by a priest in her Catholic church in Ukiah after two years of inaction by church officials. As the Santa Rosa Diocese declares bankruptcy this week under the weight of 130 lawsuits by survivors, Mike looks back on Sister Jane Kelly’s legacy and the role local journalism played in exposing the abuse.
