From Dog Walker to Novelist: The Creative Journey of C.D. Matthews.Creativity often grows from unexpected places, and for novelist, screenwriter, playwright, and actor C.D. Matthews, the journey to storytelling has been shaped by experiences that span continents, professions, and decades. Born and raised in Evanston, Illinois, Matthews developed a passion for writing early in life. He went on to study at the University of Michigan, where he completed his BA and participated in a year-long writing tutorial at the Residential College under writer Warren Hecht. It was during this time that Matthews discovered a lifelong love for fiction writing.
