The church in Ephesus was started by Paul when he was on his missionary journeys recorded in the book of Acts. One of the things I like about the letter to the Ephesians is that it’s one of the few letters in the NT that doesn’t really address a big problem. Most of the early churches had big problems. But what Paul is really doing in this letter is to the Ephesians is encouraging them and us to understand who we are and what we have in Christ – and how that changes the way we live. He wants us to live “on mission” so he starts explaining the mission. And it starts like this.
