Today we’re in chapter 4:1-26. So far in the story, the ministries of Jesus and John intertwine and then separate. News of Jesus quickly spread throughout the land, and even the Pharisees heard about Him. One thing they learned was that Jesus had more disciples and was baptizing more people than John the Baptist, which bothered them, even though His disciples and not Jesus himself were actually doing the baptisms.
