How did you respond, and what did you learn from that experience? Mary and Martha fully expected Jesus to heal their brother, but he didn’t come until after he died and was buried in a tomb. In fact, Lazarus had been dead for four days! You will see in John’s description that Martha was frustrated with Jesus, and Mary was hurt. We’ve all earnestly prayed for something when our hearts ache for a resolution, and yet, it seems as if our prayers are met with silence.
