Cacace’s Title Defense Sets Up Samedov Showdown | Belfast News

Anthony Cacace is set to defend his WBA super-featherweight title against Nick Ball in Belfast on December 19th — a fight that could set up a high-stakes showdown with mandatory challenger Elnur Samedov. Originally slated for June, Cacace’s bout with Samedov was blocked by UK boxing authorities, paving the way for this new matchup. At 37, Cacace captured the WBA belt in March by defeating Jazza Dickens, even relinquishing his IBO title to do so. The winner of this December fight must declare readiness to face Samedov by month’s end — and that bout will be held on neutral ground. Samedov, who became interim champ in February, may even get another fight before facing either Cacace or Ball. This is a pivotal moment for Cacace as he stakes his claim while setting the stage for future title drama. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
