Cade Tyson Back on Gophers Court | Minnesota Golden Gophers Basketball News

Cade Tyson, Minnesota’s top scorer and a key player from the 2022 class, is back with the Gophers and ready to play — but his eligibility remains legally tangled. After a federal appeals court temporarily halted a ruling that allowed him to play an extra season, Tyson is now enrolled in classes and practicing with the team while they navigate the legal gray area. Coach Niko Medved is thrilled to have him back, praising his impact — last season he averaged nearly 20 points and 36 minutes per game — and the team’s support for him through this uncertain process. With over 1,600 career points and 203 threes from Belmont and North Carolina, Tyson’s return could be a major boost for the Gophers.
