Rey Aguilar is a DJ, producer, label owner, and promoter whose influence on underground electronic music in South Texas spans more than two decades. Beginning his DJ journey at the young age of twelve, Aguilar developed a lifelong passion for house music and its culture.Rey’s sound reflects a deep appreciation for groove, atmosphere, and timeless underground music, with his own productions garnering support from the likes of John Digweed, Hernán Cattáneo, Maya Jane Coles, and Maceo Plex.In 2012, Aguilar co-founded the independent label bodytalk. In 2013, he founded The Side Room - a cornerstone of Rio Grande Valley’s underground scene for over a decade. Today, Rey Aguilar continues to perform, curate events, and support the next generation of artists, remaining a key figure in Texas’ underground scene. 01.
