Jaby & Michael react to Cadillac Records (2008), a music biopic that chronicles the rise of Chess Records and the legendary artists who shaped blues and early rock ’n’ roll in 1950s Chicago. The film follows the careers of figures like Muddy Waters, Little Walter, Chuck Berry, and Etta James, while also exploring the complicated relationships between artists, producers, and the industry during a time of cultural change and racial tension. This reaction stands out for its blend of powerful performances, iconic music moments, and real-life storytelling, as Jaby & Michael experience the highs, struggles, and legacy of these groundbreaking musicians. Directed by Darnell Martin (I Like It Like That, Prison Song, Their Eyes Were Watching God, George Washington, The Walking Dead), the film stars Adrien Brody (The Pianist, King Kong, Predators, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Peaky Blinders), Beyoncé (Dreamgirls, The Lion King, Obsessed, Austin Powers in Goldmember, Renaissance), Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, The Batman, Casino Royale, American Fiction, Hunger Games), Columbus Short (Stomp the Yard, Scandal, Armored, Death Race, Cadillac Records tie-ins), and Mos Def (The Italian Job, Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Dexter, 16 Blocks, Be Kind Rewind), bringing together a cast connected to major films, music culture, and widely recognized franchises that help drive strong reaction and discovery across multiple audiences. ___________________________________________________ We've got merch!
