公司运营和出现亏损这两者其实并不矛盾，利润为负，是在一直抵消财报中的权益，但只要公司能付得起“账单”，他就一直能运行下去，这就是现金流的意义。那么公司哪来那么多权益供抵消，并有现金流支付“账单”呢？一方面考的是现有营收，另一方面靠的是上市前的多伦股权融资。也就是说，他们一直亏得，都是当初投资人的钱。这才有“烧钱”的说法。
