Cain and Abel

Real death is separation from God, the source of joy and love. The “Way of Cain”—following our own path—leads to death. He knew what God required but chose his own way, bringing the best of his labor instead of the blood sacrifice God had commanded. His disobedience was an attempt to redefine righteousness on his own terms.
