Cairo Skanes Rising in Wisconsin Secondary | Wisconsin Badgers Football News

Cairo Skanes is turning heads as a versatile, intelligent defensive back for Wisconsin—burning his redshirt and flashing elite potential despite being behind established players. Originally recruited as a cornerback, he’s thriving at safety, earning praise for his game feel, quarterback reading ability, and adaptability to play multiple roles. With reps on the first-team defense and a knack for stepping in when needed, Skanes could see significant snaps this season—especially if injuries strike. Expect him to surpass his freshman output with double-digit tackles and a rotational role that could expand into a bigger impact if opportunities arise.
