In the first two chapters of Luke’s Gospel, characters acknowledge Jesus as Messiah, Son of God, and Lord. Such a high Christology, however, appears incongruous with the body of the Gospel where human characters seem ignorant of Jesus’ divinity, at least until his resurrection.
