Calgary Landfill Fire Under Control | Calgary News

A massive fire erupted at Calgary’s Ecco recycling landfill on Sunday night, sending smoke into southeast neighborhoods and prompting a multi-day firefighting effort. Fire crews battled the blaze through Monday night, with city, provincial, and Ecco teams working together to bring it under control. Officials later confirmed the smoke had cleared and no further plumes were affecting nearby communities. While the exact cause remains unknown, community cooperation helped restore calm — and now Ecco staff are overseeing cleanup.
