Calgary Pride Adapts Amid Challenges | Calgary News

Calgary Pride is back, defiant and adapting — despite funding shortfalls and political pushback. This year’s festivities, running August 31 to September 6, kicked off with a powerful Indigenous-led ceremony honoring two-spirit people through prayer, drum songs, and workshops, marking a bold step toward decolonization. Amid rising anti-queer sentiment and a controversial flag debate, Pride remains committed: smaller, more inclusive, and unbroken.
