I grew up here, and being home brings everything into sharper focus: the past, the present, and the relationships that carry the most weight.This weekend isn’t just about soaking up sunshine or revisiting old spots. It’s about family. It’s about facing things that need mending. Because sometimes, as parents, we mess up. Not intentionally, but life gets loud, and sometimes we act from ego or fear instead of love.But love is what matters. And when you strip everything else away — pride, frustration, missteps — the desire to make things right with your kids outweighs all of it.That’s where I’m at. Just trying to do the work. To reconnect. To show my kids that even when we don’t get it all right, we keep showing up. We stay in it.
