Call Out to God

from Daily Love Letters from God · host Wesleyne

“When you’re in a place of need, or want, or desire for God, all you gotta do is call out to Him“ - WesleyneMatthew 20:29 to 34:As Jesus and the disciples left the town of Jericho, a large crowd followed behind. Two blind men were sitting beside the road. When they heard that Jesus was coming that way, they began shouting, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” “Be quiet!” the crowd yelled at them. But they only shouted louder, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!” When Jesus heard them, he stopped and called, “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord,” they said, “we want to see!” Jesus felt sorry for them and touched their eyes. Instantly they could see! Then they followed him.In Matthew 20:29-34, we encounter a poignant narrative of Jesus' compassion and power as He and His disciples are leaving Jericho. Two blind men, sitting by the roadside, cry out to Jesus, addressing Him as "Lord, Son of David." Their address is significant, as it acknowledges Jesus' messianic title and their faith in Him as the promised deliverer. Despite the crowd's attempts to silence them, their cries grow even more desperate and persistent. Recognizing their faith and their need, Jesus stops, calls them over, and asks them what they want Him to do for them. Their simple and direct request, "Lord, that our eyes may be opened," is met with Jesus' compassion, and He touches their eyes, restoring their sight. The immediate response of the healed men is to follow Jesus, a testament to their gratitude and newfound faith.Today, you will get several profound lessons. Firstly, the blind men's persistent cries amidst opposition highlight the importance of persistent faith and the determination to seek Jesus, even when faced with challenges or discouragement. Their address to Jesus as the "Son of David" not only acknowledges His messianic role but also demonstrates their deep faith in His ability to heal. Additionally, Jesus' question, "What do you want me to do for you?" is an invitation for you to approach Him with your specific needs and desires, trusting in His willingness to listen and act. The healing itself serves as a testament to Jesus' divine power and His compassion for those in need. Lastly, the immediate response of the healed men to follow Jesus underscores the appropriate response to God's grace and mercy in our lives: a life dedicated to following and serving Him.Connect with Me:Website - https://www.wesleyne.com/
