Called and Gifted for Such a Time as This... Yes, You Are

“I’m leaving.” That’s what my friend said to me some months ago as she surveyed the political and spiritual landscape here in the pacific northwest. “You have the gift of fighting. I do not.”  It was like a hammer to my heart. Why would anyone leave the fighting to someone else? Don’t we all have a part to play? Why are we running? The questions kept coming. My heart has been heavy lately over the number of people who I see fleeing instead of fighting. And while I realize that God calls us all to different things—I have come to question this exodus off the Battlefield.
