Called to Serve

When members of the body of Christ find themselves in positions of deacons or elders in the church, they must not forget that they are called to serve the body and not be served by the body. What I see in the church, for the most part, is the opposite of what Jesus taught in scripture himself. He told the sons of thunder, "If you want to be great in the kingdom, you must be a servant to all." Is this what we see in the church?
