Called vs. Called Out: The Story of Samson (Pastor Matt Morgan)

from Community Brookside · host Matt Morgan

Today we will look at the quasi-tragic story of Samson. He is a Bible character that many of us are familiar with but his story has so many places where he made some pretty big mistakes. As we start this sermon series for the month of September, we are looking at places where people are called by God, but also called out by God or others for the way they act or treat people. In this story, Samson is pretty much given free reign over his own life. And because of his poor decision making skills, people are put at risk. If only someone would have just called him out for his actions....This sermon series begins with a tragic story where SOMEONE should have spoken into Samson's life to help him answer his calling better. This very easily could be any of our story. Being called out may hurt, but it is important so we know our place in God's planThis sermon was recorded on 9-5-21.Support the showVisit communitybrookside.com or facebook.com/communitybrookside for more information!

Prayer Time Heir Waves Prayer Time A podcast especially for our Prayer Time community NEWMORROW SESSIONS - A PodCast Series on the Future of Hospitality Mario C. Bauer, Florian Schneider, Axel Weber & Dr. Tillman Bardt The Newmorrow PodCast is more than a podcast — it's a platform for open dialog on the future of our business, a platform for those building what doesn’t exist yet. Here, we share and embrace our passion for the hospitality industry, but we won’t romanticize the journey. We ask the tough questions, confront uncomfortable truths, and prepare for a future that resists easy answers. We believe that the tougher and wilder times become, the more openly, honestly and humanely people need to talk to each other and act together. We believe, openness, togetherness, and truthfulness should also be cornerstones of a professional community to develop our utopian idea of „open source“. This is a space where visionaries don’t just imagine the future — they wrestle with the paradoxes that shape it: success vs. happiness, data vs. instinct, stability vs. reinvention. Join leaders, entrepreneurs, and thinkers as they share not what made them — but what’s actively shaping them, now and next. So tune in
