Cam Atkinson Retires as Blue Jackets Legend | Philadelphia Flyers News

Cam Atkinson, Columbus Blue Jackets legend and all-time short-handed goals leader, is officially retiring after a 10-season run that netted him over 400 points. His trade to the Flyers sparked fan outrage due to the salary disparity, but it proved mutually beneficial: Columbus got playmaker Jake Voráček (who nearly broke the assist record and later retired with 800+ points), while Atkinson thrived as a scorer. Now, Atkinson will sign a one-day contract with Columbus to retire as a Blue Jacket, ending his career with nearly 500 points — most earned in Columbus. What started as a controversial move ended up being a win-win for both players. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
