Newton told reporters after practice that Bill Belichick has yet to name a starter for Week 1. Rookie QB Mac Jones lit up the first half of practice but cooled off in the second half. Mac was 17-of-25 in competitive team drills against the Eagles second team. Lawrence Guy & Tre Nixon missed practice. Jonnu Smith did not participate while Hunter Henry participated in early drills.
