Camp Cope provide a lesson in finding comfort

from The Tuckshop Hosted by The Tuckshop

“Gorgeously restrained and gentle” is probably not a phrase that would have been used to describe our guest a few years ago. Melbourne’s Camp Cope made their name with scorching records like their debut self-titled and 2018’s How to Socialise and Make Friends – they were albums that railed, with fury and passion, against the sexism and inequality that exists within Australia. On their new album, Running with the Hurricane, the trio – which consists of Georgia Maq, Kelly-Dawn Helmrich, and Sarah Thompson – changed tack a bit, switching out the punk fury for gorgeous alt-country. It’s a moving listen from one of Australia’s best bands The Tuckshop were excited to welcome back Kelly to tell us all about it!
