Camp Kesem supporting kids through parents Cancer

from Gustavus Health Professions Podcast · host Heather Banks

Welcome to the Gustavus Health Professions Podcast Season Four!  My name is Heather Banks and I am here with my colleague Heidi Selzler-Bahr and in today’s episode # 70 we have with us Gabe Kardia, who works for an organization called Kesem.   Kesem runs a lot of different support service programs and one they are most notably known for is called Camp Kesem.   This is a Camp that supports children that have a parent with a cancer diagnosis or may have lost a parent to cancer.  This camp is FREE to children and it provides a fun-filled experience and creates a lasting community.   There are many different ways for college students to get involved in the Kesem community, and interestingly enough Camp Kesem was started by college students at Stanford University.  We were inspired by the mission and vision of this organization and hope you will be too, enjoy the episode.
