I met John Pron about 11pm at the camp house of the Irion County ranch I was thinking of leasing for quail hunting. He answered my post on Facebook ( I was looking for someone with a few dogs to see if this property was worth leasing) and he showed up with a string of Plum Creek Kennel’s French Brittanys. I was immediately impressed by his enthusiasm for the hunt and general love of the dogs. Something I don’t see very often among his generation. We discuss our time afield and why he’s so passionate about carrying the torch for the next generation of upland hunters and the dogs that make the world go round. A few of the dogs John brought out for our hunt. Sweet dogs with a wonderful demeanor and a passion for the hunt.
