Depression is a very serious mental health concern and it is crucial that we have conversations about how it presents in children. This episode continues my Mental Health awareness series. This series has focused on bringing it back to basics by discussing common mental health conditions that children are very often diagnosed with. With mental health entering mainstream conversations, it is critical that we all have a solid understanding of how mental health impacts the everyday lives of children and adolescents.  This week I am discussing depression in children. We know that all children will experience sadness. For some children, this feeling is overwhelming and is accompanied by other symptoms of depression.  In this episode, I talk about the symptoms of depression and how they present in children.
