Can Pennsylvania's Main Streets Survive Modern Challenges?

Pennsylvania counties and municipalities are investing in Main Street revitalization to support small businesses facing rising costs, changing consumer habits, and disaster recovery challenges. Allegheny County has allocated $1.5 million in new funding and expanded its Allegheny Together program, which has invested $6 million in 23 communities for strategic planning, façade improvements, and pedestrian upgrades. Small businesses in Allegheny County employ about 150,000 people across 18,000 establishments.
