Can peroneal nerve tendinitis cause 5th metatarsal pain?

Today's episode comes from a comment on one of the YouTube videos on peroneal tendinitis. A limping runner asked the question:  “Can peroneal nerve tendinitis cause fifth metatarsal to be tender to the touch and when walking, I am not sure if I have a stress fracture.” When I read this comment, I became confused because I am not sure what is going on with this runner, but I am going to try to explain and answer the question as best I can in this episode.
