He is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the National Academy of Neuropsychology. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Professional Psychology as well as the American Board of Pediatric Neuropsychology. Dr. Nicholls has served in multiple leadership roles including being the President of the Arizona Psychological Association and the representative of the State of Arizona to the American Psychological Association.
