Can you tell me once more why being gentle is worth it? | Gentleness Ep. 140

from The Daily Disturbance · host Anthony Pangilinan

We need to be reminded. The energy to lose it is just so powerful that unless there is a much greater force controlling us, the pursuit of gentleness will be less than encouraging. It’s not the amount of time we put in something that show what we value most, it’s what controls us and what is most overwhelming….so know why it is worth and remember it!

Can you tell me once more why being gentle is worth it? This is the daily disturbance podcast with Anthony Fungini. Max Lucado, and I quote, I choose gentleness. Nothing is one by force.

I choose to be gentle. If I raise my voice, may it only be in praise. If I clench my fist, may it only be in prayer. If I make a demand, may it only be of myself.

Whew, it's a choice we have to make to let your gentleness be evident to all, and I quote, Philippians 4.5. Because we know it is worth it. And for me, it's a choice I need to make again and again day after day, moment by moment. And I quote, it's the hard things that break.

Soft things don't break. It was an epiphany I had today, and I just wonder why it took me so very, very long to see it. You can waste so many years of your life trying to become something hard in order not to break. But it's the soft things that can't break.

The hard things are the ones that shatter into a million pieces. Joy bell see. To choose not to be soft per se, but to be strong. A strong hand with a soft touch.

I like that. Even as I write this, I lost it with a family member earlier today. And while I apologize, the dealing with it, the healing from it is taking time. Love conquers all heart aches.

Gentleness makes up, I think, for all our mistakes. Here I am, a gentleman eating much, much more gentleness. Heather wolf, and I quote, be healing with your words. Be tender with your words.

Be gentle with your words. And watch your words bring gentle, tender, healing in the hearts of others. Wow. This heartache with gentleness can lead to healing.

This burden with chilling and believing can turn into blessing. This opposition with calm and care can shift into an opportunity. And this present weight with patience, consistency, persistency can transform into wings. To have faith, all these are possible and the humility to draw strength from all who can keep me calm and collected from above, across, and below.

It is truly worth it. St. Francis de Salis, nothing so strong as gentleness, nothing so gentle as real strength. It's a Friday, so take a few minutes to reflect.

In what area can you be more gentle, calm, collected, and chill? Number two, who will you run to? Accountability is key. And number three, why is it worth it?

What are your dreams yet to be fulfilled? What are the hopes still in your heart? Who are the people who will be transformed as you move towards gentleness, calm, and chill?
