In this episode we sit down with Canadian biologist and expedition photographer Jeff Reynolds.Growing up in Ontario with a fascination for being outdoors and on the water, he developed an early appreciation for the complexity and beauty of natural ecosystems. That curiosity eventually led Jeff to study Marine Biology in Victoria, British Columbia. This education evolved into a career committed to fieldwork, exploration, and documenting some of the most remote and dynamic environments in western Canada.Over time, Jeff combined his biology background with expedition travel and tourism, beginning to work on expedition ships and sharing his naturalist storytelling alongside his photography. His work has taken him from the rugged coastlines of western Canada to both the Arctic and Antarctic.In this conversation we dive into Jeff’s journey, the realities of working as a photographer on expedition ships, and the lessons learned from years spent observing wildlife and documenting change in fragile ecosystems.
