Canadiens Hand Hurricanes First Loss of the Playoffs

SiriusXM Morning Skate with Scott Laughlin, Gord Stellick & Tyler Madarasz   The Montreal Canadiens stunned the Carolina Hurricanes with four straight first-period goals and cruised to a 6-2 win in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Final at Lenovo Center. Juraj Slafkovsky led the charge with two goals and an assist, while Cole Caufield and Phillip Danault each added a goal and an assist. Nick Suzuki chipped in three assists, and Jakub Dobes turned aside 25 shots as Montreal grabbed an early series lead. Seth Jarvis and Eric Robinson scored for Carolina, who suffered their first loss of the postseason after sweeping both the Senators and Flyers in the opening two rounds.
