De acordo com Instituto Nacional do Câncer, o INCA, a estimativa de novos casos por ano é de mais de treze mil pessoas. O principal sintoma é o aparecimento de nódulo palpável ou visível na região da tireoide ou do pescoço. É tratável e tem altos índices de cura, porém é fundamental manter o acompanhamento médico.
