Like in previous years, in the last month of November, the spotlight was shone on prostate and testicular cancer, and men around the world over the age of fifty were once again encouraged to get themselves tested. But, according to one South African oncology expert, patients need more counselling on the pros and cons of prostate cancer screening, as well as the risks and over-diagnosis. Prostate cancer remains the second-most diagnosed cancer in men and the third-most common cause of cancer deaths worldwide.
