Candida Doyle

What this episode covers

This week we have a very special guest, Candida Doyle from Pulp. Put together & in conversation with a good friend of ours Emma Jarvis- I’ll let Emma explain- ‘These are some highlights we’ve chosen from a 5+hour playlist we put together for Candida’s 50th birthday party. A playlist mostly comprised of Candida’s favorite and most meaningful songs, with the odd extra suggestion from me, Emma. Candida gave me the list to edit down and order the songs in a way we hoped would suit the changing mood of a big birthday party (i.e. anticipating when the booze and the dancing would kick in!) Some of the most difficult-to-please music aficionados offered up their compliments, and the last couple of hours were a gloriously communal sweaty mess on the dance floor. We may never get over ourselves because of this. We hope the DTB listeners enjoy these excerpts we chose xx Candida & Emma’ She Said- Plan B You’ve Got a Friend in Me- Randy Newman Maple Leaf Rag- Scott Joplin On Broadway- George Benson She’s Not There- Santana I’m Gonna Sit Right Down and Write Myself a Letter- Fats Waller I Wish I Knew How It Would Feel to Be Free- Nina Simone Together We Are Beautiful- Fern Kinney Express Yourself- Charles Wright & the Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band Teenage Dirtbag- Wheatus Pump it Up- Elvis Costello & The Attractions Do The Hustle- Van McCoy Let’s Stick Together- Bryan Ferry
