Candidate for Wisconsin Democratic Party chair, Joe Zepecki, on Trump, Big Beautiful Bill, what Democrats need to do
from WIZM - La Crosse Talk Interviews · host WIZM News Staff
Joe Zepecki, candidate for Democratic Party of Wisconsin chair, was in La Crosse last Saturday and stopped into the WIZM studio to discuss the state of the party, the not-so beautiful bill passing the US House and state of politics in Wisconsin. Zepecki is one of three candidates running for state chair, along with William Garcia — the La Crosse County and 3rd Congressional District Democratic Party chair — and Devin Remiker, who is a UW-L graduate. The Wisconsin Democratic Party convention is July 16-17, where delegates will vote on those three candidates. On the show, along with Republicans passing what Zepecki called a wealth transfer to the rich through the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, we also discussed Republicans holding their state convention and one of their platforms being upholding Wisconsin's 176-year-old near total abortion ban. We also talked about the Democrats' bench when it comes for things like running for governor, if Tony Evers doesn't seek reelection.
