Cattle futures are also being pressured by talks with Mexico over resuming imports into the U.S., as well as negotiations with Brazil to reduce duties on beef and other goods such as coffee.Trump’s efforts on beef have met with some fierce criticism from ranchers — a sector that has largely backed the president. After he announced plans to import more beef from Argentina, the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association said any increased imports would undercut US producers. The administration has worked to placate ranchers with a program to boost domestic beef production that includes more federal grazing.Trump/Xi ShowdownChinese leader Xi Jinping said 'it is normal for the two leading economies of the world to have frictions now and then'Trump suggested he may reduce tariffs imposed on China due to Beijing's cooperation in curbing fentanyl exports."I expect to be lowering that because I believe that they’re going to help us with the fentanyl situation," Trump said, adding, "The relationship with China is very good."Trumping Russia’s Nuclear ThreatPresident Donald Trump announced that he has ordered the United States to resume nuclear weapons testing "immediately," saying he directed the Department of War to match other nations’ programs. He called the move a necessary step to maintain global parity."The United States has more Nuclear Weapons than any other country. This was accomplished, including a complete update and renovation of existing weapons, during my First Term in office.""Because of the tremendous destructive power, I HATED to do it, but had no choice! Russia is second, and China is a distant third, but will be even within 5 years," Trump said. "Because of other countries’ testing programs, I have instructed the Department of War to start testing our Nuclear Weapons on an equal basis.
