Cannes Yachting Festival 2026 Guide to Electric Boat Exhibitors

One of the most anticipated boat shows of the year – the Cannes Yachting Festival – begins Tuesday September 8 and runs until Sunday September 13. Cannes is recognized as Europe’s largest in-water boat show, with more than 700 vessels at the docks and 680 exhibitors dispersed throughout the Vieux Port (Old Port) and Port Canto, on the other side of the city’s famous Croisette area. The Festival is also a showcase for world premieres, with more than 150 new boats being unveiled this year. The big news on the Cruise 3.0 and 6.0 outboards is that they have both been standardized with 48-volt architecture and updated looks in line with the Travel family introduced in 2023. The full line – Seadeck 6, 7 and 9 – will be on display at Vieux Port. The electric and FF motors work in parallel on the same shaft, so the drive can be all electric, hybrid or all fossil fuel when required. The combustion engine can also serve as a generator to recharge batteries. The all-electric mode is the one typically used close to shore and when going slowly, so one of the nice benefits of the V-P is that it has been designed for nearly smoke-free acceleration when the ICE and electric motors work together. The carbon fibre hulls appear similar to a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat) but are more durable and allow for extra internal space – about 40% extra. There are two models, the MC-ZERO 450 and new MC-ZERO 325. The 450 (shown) has twin electric jets of 30 kW each, enabling a top speed of 25 knots (46 kph / 29 mph) with the 32 kWh battery providing a range of 27 nautical miles (50 km / 30 mi) when cruising at 5 knots (9 kph / 6 mph). It also has a world-first (and patent pending) ‘moveable helm’ that can be fixed in one of three positions: aft, mid or foredeck. The helm can slide forward and the side seats flipped up flip up to clear the deck for a kayak, boards, skis or dive gear. This marks the first dual application of Vision Marine’s system and is the result of a joint effort by the engineering teams of both companies. The internal hull layout has been refined to house the batteries, BMS (Battery Management System) and other components necessary. Sterk’s engineers reimagined the internal configurations to support either three and four high-voltage battery packs. The signature supersport profile of the hull has not been altered, though. It had been designed and refined through hundreds of hours of computational fluid dynamics testing (CFD) for an efficiency that enables smooth running and agile response even in rough conditions. It features a twin stepped deep V layout with strategically placed spray rails to enhance lift – reducing both water resistance and spray. The E-Lektra technology will offer solutions – full electric or hybrid – for all sailboats from 9 to 24 metres (29 – 80 ft) that includes motors, batteries and/or generators, along with optimized onboard energy management of all inputs and output: solar panels, motors, generators, ‘hotel load’ appliances and equipment, shore power connection… Their first customers are seven major brands that are all exhibiting at Cannes and represent 60% of the global market: Beneteau, Fountaine Pajot Sailing Catamarans, Fountaine Pajot Yachts, Dufour, Excess, Jeanneau and Lagoon. As is true for all boats in this guide, the boats on show at Cannes may not have the electric/hybrid option installed, but it is available for all those noted. This allows a cruising programme on inland waterways where silent carbon-free sailing is popular. The outdoor space of the Oceanis 37.1 is very open, with an absence of back stays – a layout used successfully on the Oceanis 30.1 and Oceanis 34.1. The hull is flared with a rib giving it fluid lines below water, achieving greater power and stability and improving hull rigidity. The FP41 and FP 44 debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival last September, while this year it’s the world premieres of the all-new FP48 and FP55. The FP-48 is successor to the iconic Tanna 47, adding next-level comfort, equipment and technology. Conceptually, the 360 is designed to offer the ultimate in comfort and luxury on the water. A practical and spacious cabin layout is available in two or three formats, all offering an abundance of natural light and the feeling of space. The super hydrodynamic hull provides increased stability and performance and also makes the boat an excellent vessel to take advantage of the electric propulsion option. Hanse website HH Catamarans: HH44 with EcoDrive The HH 44, 2024 “Boat of the Year” is a multi-award winning, eco-friendly cruising yacht, designed from the ground up with electrification in mind. The company promotes it as “the yacht of the future” with a perfect balance of style, performance, safety and comfort. The HH44 was conceived from the ground up to work with the EcoDrive, HH’s electric/diesel parallel hybrid system. It integrates the hybrid with a solar array on the cabin top and hydro-regeneration while sailing. This provides all the benefits of an electric boat: silent fume free motoring up to 7kts, instant torque for maneuvering, and hydro-regeneration while sailing; while also providing the reassurance trusted diesel engines as a back up. HH Catamarans   Lagoon – Lagoon 55 and 60 Lagoon is one of the world’s most successful catamaran brands, with 250+ dealers around the world and over 7,000 boats launched since 1984. One of the seven companies that are part of the E-Lektra electric/hybrid initiative, their smaller boats, such as the 38 and 42, are available with the system. At Cannes they have two models on show that can be configured with hybrid propulsion: the Lagoon 55 (past Multihull of the Year Award winner) and the Lagoon 60 (winner of  the Yacht Style Awards for Best Sailing Multihull above 15 metres.   Lagoon website Leopard: L43, 46, 52 with JOOOL system Leopard is showing three sailing catamaran models – the L43, L46 and L52 –  the 46 and 52 being available with electric / hybrid propulsion by JOOOL and its One Box power management system. The One Box integrates all the power functions necessary for propulsion and monitors power from each source. The Leopard 52 has been optimized for performance and ease of handling but also efficiency. Solar support comes in the form of a built-in roof platform of up to 1,600 Wp of flush-mounted solar panels connected to 54kWh of lithium ion batteries with integrated fire suppression. They are in turn connected to twin 25kW (40 hp) electric drives and a 24kW range-extending genset. Testing for the 46 shows speeds over 8 knots and regeneration capabilities up to 1.8 kW per hour per hull.  Leopard Catamarans website MODX: Winner of the 2025 Innovation Route Prize for Sustainable and Responsible Technologies Winner of the 2025 Gussies Electric Boat Awards in the Electric Sailboats category, the MODX 70 is the fruit of ten years’ expertise, a beautifully designed 70 foot catamaran that offers a sailing experience at zero CO₂ emissions by integrating the wind propulsion of Aeroforce wingsails, electric motors, hydrogeneration, and solar power. Its interior is also fully customizable, reflecting a modern, high-end approach to yachting.   MODX website Sunreef – Sunreef 70 Sunreef will be showing their Sail 70, available with electric hybrid propulsion and the company’s award-winning Solar Skin technology in which solar cells are actually embedded in the composite material used in the hull. In its latest iteration, Solar Skin 3.0, each cell has an RFID chip which enables it to function as a smart unit, adjusting its electrical output to mitigate shading effects from sails and superstructure in real time. With its environmentally conscious technologies, top tier sailing performance and tailor-made interiors, the Sunreef 70 demonstrates how an electric sailing catamaran can harmonize elegance, sustainability, and performance. The yacht’s sleek exterior and intuitive interior flow ensure that the potential of the already expansive space is optimized for both luxury and practicality. Sunreef website Vaan R5: Winner of the 2025 Innovation Route Prize for Processes or Products with Low Environmental Impact Vaan Yachts was founded in 2018 by sustainable entrepreneurs Igor Kluin and Nienke van ‘t Klooster, so it comes as no surprise that the multi-award winning Vaan 5 has been noted as “one of the forever green multihulls leading the way in terms of environmental friendliness.” The 5 is outfitted with the Oceanvolt HP Servoprop (HP for High Power) and its patented technology that offers the most powerful hydrogeneration of any electric motor on the market. It has twin 25 kW (≈35 hp) Servoprops with 86 kiloWatt hours of battery storage. In hydrogeneration the motors can produce 5kW at 10 knots, which the 70 ton (65 tonne) R5 can easily achieve with its 125 m2 (1,350 sq ft) of upwind sails. Vaan Yachts Electric PWCs (Personal Watercraft) and Water Toys Aerofoils Aerofoils brought together a team of specialists in 2017 in the fields of engineering, surfing and aeronautics, along with design experts from Audi, to develop what they consider to be “The World´s Most Innovative Electric Hydrofoils.” They offer a variety of boards and foiling experiences: Airfly, Hyperfly, Competition, Performance and Adventure, for beginners to experts. Aerofoils AEQUAR Dutch start-up AEQUAR Watersports is introducing the world’s first electric jet ski developed especially for children. There are only a few images and facts on the company’s website, but they promise “a completely new boating experience where power, control, and fun come together. The electric propulsion, controllable speed, and rugged design ensure a unique boating experience.” The child-centric PWC is 100% electric, with a brushless drive that is governed to not exceed a speed of 13 km/h. It has a marine-grade buoyant hull and tethered kill-switch the rider can find without looking. The company also says it is “A first machine the way a first bike used to be.” All will be revealed at Cannes.   AEQUAR website Awake The story of Awake began in 2012 when wakeboarder Philip Werner asked himself “”Why do I need all this gear…?” and built his first electric surfboard. In 2013 he launched his first electric surfboard company, then left it in 2017 to found Awake with partners Daniel Aronsson and Mikael Kajbring. The first Awake board was the RAVIK, with the next milestone coming in the spring of 2022, with the launch of Awake’s first eFoil, the Awake VINGA. They now have a full lineup of 3 e-foils and 5 e-surfboards, including the new BRABUS x Awake Limited Edition Shadow Explore Jetboard.  Awake website JetWave JetWave offers two e-foiling board lines, the Carbon Series – primarily made of high-performance carbon fibr eand aerospace-grade aluminum – and the inflatable Air Series. The Air is designed for beginners and casual boarders while the Carbon is for experts and those seeking higher speeds. All JetWaves have a remote control option and app, as well as options for one of three designed wing sets, each tailored for different riding styles and skill levels to help provide optimal balance, speed, and maneuvrability. JetWave PWRFoil Like many of the e-foil companies, France’s PWR-FOIL offers models for both beginners and advanced riders, the difference being the size and shape of the board. Larger boards with wide curves are easier to learn on while shorter boards with sharper angles are for those who want tighter, more precise turns. All boards are quickly assembled and stored, and made with a hybrid structure that combines rigidity and lightness. Users can start with the beginner boards, then keep the motor, mast and foils and move up to the smaller boards as their skill increases.  PWR-FOIL ROXEN Roxen Innovations launched their first craft at Boot Düsseldorf 2026 and has now completed 100+ test runs across Sweden, Germany, Poland, Hungary, Croatia, Italy, and France. What stands out at first look is the inflatable tubes along the sides of the PWC, similar to those of a RIB (Rigid Inflatable Boat). Weighing in at only 84 kg (185 lb) including the battery, it is extremely portable. The 22 kW (30 hp) electric motor and a swappable 5.5 kWh battery, give a top speed of 30 kts (55 kph / 34 mph), a cruising speed of about half that and as much as a 75 minute runtime at combined speeds.  Roxen website SeaBob Seabob will be showing their entire line of electric water scooters, including the double mode F-9 Series from the designers at Studio F. A. Porsche. In Dive mode the performance is much more sensitive for comfortable dives and for high the Sport mode generates maximum engine power, increases the driving experience and creates unique driving fun. A switch sensor lets you switch between modes and the F9 boasts a digital thumb-operated accelerator to adjust infinitely variable engine power. The Driving Stability System works through an entire wing system mounted on the side of the Seabob, coordinating with extractable rearside wings to create highly stabilising buoyancy forces for all activities on the water.
