Cap America 2 Review & More @The Grindhouse Mashup @Afronerd Radio, 6pm!

from Afronerd Radio · host Afronerd Radio

Well the event has finally arrived and it was incredible! Of course, we're talking about the Friday release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier.  It's also the top of the month and that means it's time for a Grindhouse Mashup broadcast, folks!  Join Daryll B., Capt. Kirk and Dburt as they merge genres and topics (a la The Comic Shoppe + Afronerd Radio) in their own inimitable fashion this Saturday starting at 6pm EST.  The issues to be micro-analyzed and decrypted are:  the crew's opinion of Captain America 2; Dburt lauds over another Image book, Ghosted (think Ocean's 11 meets The Haunting or The Ring); Comics Alliance asks if Netflix's upcoming Iron Fist TV series should be given to an Asian actor (vs a White actor which is Marvel canon); a recent study affirms that White gamers go through changes once they play as a Black avatar; a panel at Seattle's Emerald City Comic Con debate the concept of realism in comics; our thoughts on DeSean Jackson's alleged gang affiliations and new gig with the Redskins; a homeless mother gets a break after leaving her children in a car during a job interview; we finally discuss the Ebony vs Black Conservatives kerfuffle and lastly, after Kwasi Enin's octadic Ivy League triumph, there's another young man of color who was accepted to 5 Ivies and both are starting to get internet scrutiny.....is it time to re-invigorate The Black Ivy League? (yes....colloquially, it exists).  Call the hosts live at 646-915-9620!  Imperius Rex, brothers!
