Capernaum: The Powerless Religion, A Jumbled up mess with no order.

from The Lighthouse of Faith and Worship · host Tracy Beyer

Week four on the Capernaum Series: The Powerless Religion. Jesus spoke as one having authority, There are three kinds of Authority in God's Kingdom. God's Authority. Delegated Authority and Usurped Authority. God's authority is absolute in the lives of believers. It is because of His authority we have the offer of salvation. Delegated Authority is what God gives to the church, it is the means by which we as a group can act and accomplish God's will. Finally, there is Usurped Authority. This is the measure by which the enemy has used to run amok in families and loved ones both inside and outside the church. The enemy has snuck in and taken the keys to everything that is on loan to us from God and has caused nothing but problems. Usurped Authority is rebellion. Religion cannot fix that, in fact, religion allows that spirit to dwell amongst it, right alongside it, unchallenged and unchanged. This morning Jesus wants to come into the places of our worship through the Holy Spirit and remove all that is unclean and uninvited.
