Captain Karin Botha: Giving child victims a voice in court

As part of Women’s Month, SAPS is highlighting the work of Captain Karin Botha, a forensic social worker attached to the Germiston Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit. Botha specialises in conducting forensic interviews with child victims of abuse and trafficking, helping to ensure their voices are heard in court. Her work played an important role in the successful prosecution of three human traffickers who were sentenced to multiple life terms and additional lengthy prison sentences in April.
