Captain Steve Fernandez - "Let's Not Rush It."

Our guest on this episode of the podcast is Captain Steve Fernandez. Steve is a New York native who has spent countless hours on the ocean since childhood. He began his career in fishing aboard charter boats and various private sportfish programs. His first full-time job, after switching careers, was aboard the "Blue Runner " fishing with well known captain Capt. Mark Deblasio. After working on the "Blue Runner " charter fishing and tournament fishing, Steve took a captains job aboard a 64' Viking "Five Seas ." The "Five Seas " crew spends their summers fishing the Northeast Canyons and local tournament circuit. In the winter months, the boat moves to Florida and the Bahamas. Steve is incredibly passionate about all kinds of fishing. He shares a few epic fish stories, including one about having a potential tournament winning yellowfin get mauled by a giant hammerhead in the canyons...Steve also talks about his favorite trolling spreads and hand feeding tuna on the draggers.
