Captures Story 4 - Timber

In which Sir Arthur Hirries, a man of sixty-five and owner of a vast northern timber estate, decides to sell his ancestral woods to the Government in a spirit mingling patriotism and profit, leading him to take a final, solitary walk through the familiar yet daunting forest. As dusk falls and a fierce storm rises, his familiarity with the landscape falters, and he confronts the sombre and overwhelming presence of his own trees in a night of growing peril and haunting reflection.
