Paul sits in prison, yet he considers himself rich because the Philippians share his hardship and Christ gives him strength. Their gift shows that true Christian prosperity includes both generous giving and humble receiving as God provides through His people. His circumstances do not control that contentment. Christ sustains him through plenty and hunger because His life, death and resurrection have met their greatest need.
