Neurodiversity and dealing with it while trying to achieve potential in an extremely challenging environment, is a tough ask. Add to that mix a time period when people didn’t even believe that women could be neurodiverse unless it was specifically bipolar, and we have a very high wall to surpass.To do so takes courage. We all have a thought to what courage means and no doubt in each and every rendering of that concept lies a mass of truth reflected by our own realities. Visualise if you will, having to repeat that courage on a daily basis. Consider the thoughts that pass through the mind; they don’t understand me, the medication is pulling me back, I am alone…Caragh has given a lot to her sport and yet such is her character that she is determined to do more. She wants to make sure that athletes of today and tomorrow who are neurodiverse, are no longer held back by ignorance, misdiagnoses or loneliness.
