Cardiac health in Menopause with Jill McLaggan
from WomenKind Collective
Our guest this week is the fabulous Jill McLaggan who suffered a Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection (SCAD) in her peri menopause. Jill is a Clinical Massage Therapist in Edinburgh. She has worked in the health & fitness industry for nearly 30 years. However, in 2021 Jill had a sudden pain in her chest and eventually after doubt and misdiagnosis she was found to have had at least one significant heart attack, possibly more. She realised her continued cardiac symptoms were potentially linked to her changing hormones in peri menopause. In our conversation we learn that 90% of SCAD diagnosis’s are in women aged between 45-53. And Jill tell us some potentially life saving information.Watch the full interview on our YouTube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFgmHLcdx28eco-XlkWYwUA We begin reading the first 2 chapters of our Book Collective, How To Live When You Could Be Dead by Dame Deborah James.
