Cardinals Boost Girls Flag Football | Arizona Cardinals News

The Arizona Cardinals are doubling down on their mission to empower girls’ flag football, launching a third season of their high school game broadcasts with eight fully produced 90-minute shows starting September 15. Featuring play-by-play, sideline reports, and standout athletes like last year’s Coach of the Year Matt Stone and Offensive Player of the Year Marlie Phillips, this initiative makes the Cardinals the only NFL team with a weekly girls’ flag football broadcast. The season also includes the third annual All-Star Experience at a Cardinals-Cowboys game, spotlighting 33 top Arizona players from the NFL’s Play Football initiative. Beyond media, the Cardinals are expanding access through college programs, a first-ever flag football campus at an NFL stadium, and partnerships tackling gender inequity. With participation in Arizona soaring from 57 to nearly 140 schools, the momentum mirrors global growth — flag football is set to debut at the 2028 Olympics, making this more than just a local push: it’s a movement reshaping the future of women’s sports.
