Ghanaian American cardiologist, cartoonist, and author Shirlene Obuobi just released her paranormal romance novel “Die for Me,” proving she’s living out her childhood dream of balancing medicine, art, and writing. Now working part-time as a doctor to make room for her creative passions, she also uses social media to educate on heart health. She dives into the real struggles of healthcare — burnout, systemic pressures, and patient frustrations — while sharing her love for sci-fi, fantasy, and genre-bending stories with deep emotional cores. Obuobi’s reading list? Octavia Butler, N.K. Jemisin, and any book that delivers unforgettable character arcs — whether in audiobook or hardcover form.
