“Caricatures which have brought such pain to Islamic peoples” - Evora, Portugal, 12 February 2006

In 2006, a Danish newspaper sparked a global controversy by publishing a series of offensive drawings of Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his progeny. Protests and violence erupted around the world, amidst a vigorous debate about freedom and responsibility.
