Carl Giammarese
from Old People Rock
Meet Carl Giammarese, founding member, lead singer, guitarist, songwriter, and driving force behind The Buckinghams. From the chart-topping #1 hit "Kind of a Drag" to classics like "Don't You Care," "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy," and "Hey Baby (They're Playing Our Song)," Carl helped define the sound of the 1960s. More than six decades later, he's still doing what he loves. Now in his seventies, Carl continues touring nationwide, writing and recording new music, managing the band, and greeting fans after every show. He's the only Buckingham to have appeared on stage for every performance in the band's 60-year history – a remarkable testament to his passion, perseverance, and love of making music. For Carl, the glory days aren't behind him – they're still playing.
